Privacy notice
Some of the features described below (quotation requests, shipping estimates, address suggestions and bot protection) are being introduced and may not be active on this site yet.
Browsing this site
You can read every page without giving us anything. This site has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Its pages load their images, fonts and scripts from this site only. Links to other sites (the online store, MikroTik, YouTube, LinkedIn) leave this site; those sites have their own policies.
Like any web server, ours keeps technical logs of each request (time, page, your network address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure.
Your quote list
The products you add to a quote are kept in your own browser (local storage) so they are still there when you return. They are not sent to us until you choose to submit a quotation request. You can clear them at any time by removing the products or clearing your browser data.
Quotation requests
When you submit a quotation request we receive what you entered: your name, email address and phone number, your organisation (optional), your billing and shipping addresses, the products and quantities, your reference number (optional), any notes, and, if you ask for one, the details of a tax exemption request (type, number and reason). We do not collect payment details and this form does not accept file uploads.
We use this only to prepare and send you a quotation, to follow up on your request, and to keep a record of it. A request is not a quotation and nothing is sent to you automatically. Your request is held on a server operated by MikroTik Canada and then copied to our internal quotation workspace. We do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own use. We keep it for as long as it is needed to deal with your request and for our business records, and you can ask us to correct or delete it.
Shipping estimates
When you ask for a shipping estimate in the quote builder, our website sends your delivery postal code, province and country, together with the products and quantities in your quote, to our private shipping service. That service works out how the products would be packed and asks FedEx, our carrier, for current transportation rates. What reaches FedEx is the delivery postal code, province and country, the weights and sizes of the packages we calculate, and our own shipping origin and account details. We do not send your name, email address, telephone number, street address or any other contact details to FedEx for an estimate. FedEx processes the information provided to it in accordance with its applicable privacy notice. We use FedEx only to obtain rates; this feature does not book a shipment, create a label or take payment. FedEx may process this information outside Canada, including in the United States.
The estimate is shown to you in Canadian dollars, is valid for one hour from the time it is generated, and is confirmed again in your quotation. Our shipping service keeps a short record of each estimate request (the date and time, the destination postal code, province and country, the packages and the rates returned) so that we can prepare your quotation, check the result and investigate errors. We are introducing a rule to reduce the postal code in these records to its first three characters after 90 days. Until that rule is switched on, the full postal code is kept. Records that form part of a quotation are kept with the quotation as described under Quotation requests.
Protection against automated abuse (Cloudflare Turnstile)
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated submissions. It runs when you ask for a shipping estimate and when you reach the review step of the quote builder, not while you browse. At those points your browser loads a script from Cloudflare (challenges.cloudflare.com), and Cloudflare receives technical information from your browser, such as your network address and browser details, to decide whether you are a person. Cloudflare handles that information under its own privacy terms. We receive only the pass or fail result.
When you use the quote builder, our website may create a random browser identifier when it first communicates with our service, including when you request a shipping estimate. We use technical identifiers associated with your browser and network connection to limit repeated requests, prevent abuse and protect the service. Network addresses used for these controls are stored as keyed one-way hashes, and temporary restrictions may be applied to repeated requests. Shipping-estimate requests are subject to limits that are separate from any limits on submitting a quotation request.
Address suggestions
When you type an address in the quote builder, the text you type is sent through our service to Google, our address-suggestion provider, so that it can offer matching addresses, and the address you choose is sent to Google to retrieve its full details. We do not send your name, email address, telephone number, products or quote to Google for this. Google processes the information provided to it in accordance with its applicable privacy notice and may process it outside Canada, including in the United States. You can ignore the suggestions and type your address yourself.
